This is a replica Destroyer battle ship that can be controlled by moving all 4 directions (forward, backward, left and right). This is a great toy that is very accurate to the real life battleships of its day. The destroyer battleship is a long-endurance warship intended to escort larger vessels in a fleet or battle group and defend them against smaller, short-range but powerful attackers. Modern destroyers, also known as guided missile destroyers, are equivalent in tonnage but drastically superior in firepower to cruisers of the World War II era, capable of carrying nuclear missiles that are able to destroy cities.
Prior to WWII, destroyers were light vessels with little endurance for unattended ocean operations; typically a number of destroyers and a single destroyer operated together. After the war, the advent of the guided missile allowed destroyers to take on the surface combatant roles previously filled by battleships and cruisers. This resulted in larger and more powerful destroyers more capable of independent operation.
At the dawn of the 21st Century, destroyers are the heaviest ships in general use, with only three nations (the United States, Russia, and Peru) operating the heavier class cruisers and none operating battle ships Modern destroyers, also known as guided missles, are equivalent in tonnage but vastly superior in firepower to cruisers of the World War II era, capable of carrying nuclear weapons. Guided missile destroyers such as the Arleigh Burke class are actually larger and more heavily armed than most previous ships classified as guided missile cruisers, due to their massive size at 510 feet (160 m) long and weighting in at 9200 tons and armed with over 90 missiles
This 1:115 scale replica of an actual military destroyer, features a light-up radar tower, opposable gun turrets, and model helicopters to complete the illusion of a real warship. Put this destroyer in the water and blow the opposition out of the water.
